Young Living Essential Oils in the Home
I am a distributor for Young Living Essential Oils because I have had many positive effects for myself and my family through the use of essential oils since we began using them 4 years ago. Essential Oils are the lifeblood of the plant that they come from. They are the plants defense against disease and happen to incorporate into our bloodstream similarly and quickly. Essential Oils have been used for centuries as a therapeutic modality. Biblically speaking, essential oils were given to the baby Jesus by the 3 wise men because of their extreme value.
My family and I have seen great results from many of the oils. Our favorites are Thieves, Lemon and Purification for immune boosting and purifying the air and our bodies. We love PanAway, Balsam Fir, Deep relief and Aroma Siez for our orthopaedic pain from our hobbies of running and cycling.
EVERYDAY OILS COLLECTION:
Here are some tips and uses for this most popular collection *
Frankincense: This is generally safe. Safe enough that newborns are often anointed with Frankincense on their head after birth. This is just generally a great one for overall health and getting the body back on track. Edible.
Lavender: Also safe, can be put nearly everywhere.** Great for cuts, burns, calming, bug repellant, and edible.
Lemon: Safe, edible, helps with heartburn, cleansing the liver, great to add to cleaning supplies and laundry.
Peppermint: This one is harsh in that it can have a burning sensation, so I always dilute with olive oil. Great for stomach pain and bloating, and it’s also wonderful for orthopedic pain. I will put a dime size amount of olive oil or Young Living’s V-6 oil in my palm, drop about 2 drops of peppermint in it, and rub it in a circle over my upset stomach, morning sick belly, or all over my painful knees.
PanAway: This one can be harsh for some, though I don’t need to dilute it personally. But it’s a good idea to have diluting oil around just in case. This is specifically for pain. I used this one on my shoulder 3x a day before my triathlon and 2x the morning of the race and my pain was gone! I dilute it just so that it goes over a larger area. It’s expensive because of the helichrysim, but that’s what’s super great, it’s actually helping to heal by acting as an anticoagulant where the injury is.
Peace & Calming: One of my favorites right now. I was very upset at my daughter one day when she wouldn’t go to sleep, she was waking up every 10 minutes when I was trying to pack for vacation. I put P&C on her feet and on my wrists and neck (though I was actually thinking…I don’t want this to work because I am so annoyed that I want to stay annoyed, but I thought I’m not being a very good person or mother by wanting to stay mad, so I tried the P&C knowing that it couldn’t be the placebo effect because I didn’t want it to work). And I was instantly more relaxed. I felt my blood pressure drop, my anger subside and my breathing calm. My mind was still angry as oils don’t get rid of the thoughts, but I was much calmer physically.
Purification: Wonderful for liver cleansing and purifying the air, or for use in household cleaners. We diffuse this one in the bathroom for mildew, mixed in with our laundry detergent, in the bedroom during the musty winter months, or if one of us is sick. My husband, who sometimes isn’t a big user of oils, will always go to Purification and Thieves on his own.
Thieves: Thieves is one of 3 oils that “sold” me on essential oils (the other two were lemongrass and purification). This is very effective in decreasing the length of time and intensity of illness. I pretty much always just put this one on my feet, as it is pretty intense. Though it can be placed on your tongue (it will burn a little until you get used to it) or put in a homemade capsule to digest. I would use this, highly diluted, on my infant’s gums when she was teething, as it has cloves in it (which is still used by some dentists for pain management). There are many other Thieves products like hand sanitizer, spray, household cleaner and toothpaste, because it’s a great immunity booster! Valor: My all-time favorite. I can use this for anything from my back pain, grounding me in the morning or strengthening my confidence and calmness when I’m headed out to do something nerve-wracking. Some have called this one “Chiropractor in a bottle”. I often have spine pain and I have a roller on my Valor bottle to roll right onto my spine. This is used in the Raindrop Technique (http://aromatherapyliving.com/raindrop_technique.html) which is a back massage that has changed my whole concept of back massage.
Joy: (new to this collection this year) This is a exotic blend with uplifting overtones that can bring joy to the heart. It can be worn as cologne or perfume to relax and inspire. When diffused, it can be refreshing and uplifting. Joy contains Rose in the blend, which is one of the oils with the highest ORAC of 1,604,284 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
Raindrop Technique
Do you ever have back pain that a regular massage doesn't help?
Raindrop can help with the pain, while also invigorating you and strengthening your immune system:

The Raindrop Technique uses some massage, but mostly the oils to really help with back pain and overall wellness. I can answer more questions about this technique or refer you directly to a local Massage Therapist friend who offers this in her practice.
