Diaper Free and loving it...

What is EC?

Resources to help:

This is a way of teaming with your child to use the potty at a young age, decrease diaper usage, decrease laundry, decrease diaper rash and increase bonding with your child and increasing your child's independence and interdependence early.

This type of “potty training” takes a lot of work up front, but I felt like it was worth it to us.  It probably is more difficult with 2 working parents to do it 100%, but even just having a potty around to go pee on right when the baby wakes up from a nap (it’s almost a guarantee they will pee when they wake up) gets them used to it so that it’s not a mystery and a weird thing when they are ready to train.

Also, I feel like the 3 best parts of it was no diaper rashes, less diapers to wash when we did catch a few pees a day and when I knew she was doing the poop face, I’d just put her on the potty before she was at the age to be obstinate about it, and she has never once been upset to go poop on the potty.

Sometimes she still gets mad when I ask her to go pee because she’s a toddler and just wants to be playing, but she does not like to poop her in pants.

She has been out of diapers during the day at 18 months and completely out of diapers altogether (night included) by 2 years!
